About Dr. Schaafsma (she/her)
Dr. Schaafsma provides individual counseling for young adults and adults. She has over ten years of experience providing brief and long term counseling services in university counseling centers, community mental health and private practice settings. She takes an empathic, collaborative, and culturally responsive approach to therapy, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), interpersonal, and emotion-focused approaches to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. Dr. Schaafsma is passionate about helping her clients heal, grow, and thrive as they navigate anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, relationship challenges, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, and other emotional concerns.
